ਭਾਰਤ ਨੇ ਐਤਵਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਚੈਂਪੀਅਨਸ ਟਰਾਫੀ ਦੇ ਮੈਚ 'ਚ ਪਾਕਿਸਤਾਨ ਦੇ ਖਿਲਾਫ ਰੋਮਾਂਚਕ ਜਿੱਤ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰਦੇ ਹੀ ਦੇਸ਼ ਭਰ 'ਚ ਜਸ਼ਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਲਹਿਰ ਦੌੜ ਗਈ।
ਟੀਮ ਇੰਡੀਆ ਦੀ ਜਿੱਤ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਲਾਘਾ ਕਰਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਸੋਸ਼ਲ ਮੀਡੀਆ 'ਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ੰਸਕਾਂ ਦਾ ਹੜ੍ਹ ਆ ਗਿਆ।
ਜਸ਼ਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਿਚਕਾਰ, ਇੱਕ ਅਚਾਨਕ ਸ਼ਖਸੀਅਤ ਵੀ ਪ੍ਰਚਲਿਤ ਹੋਣ ਲੱਗੀ- ਅਭੈ ਸਿੰਘ, ਏਰੋਸਪੇਸ ਇੰਜੀਨੀਅਰ ਤੋਂ ਸਾਧੂ ਬਣੇ, ਜਿਸਨੂੰ IITian ਬਾਬਾ ਵੀ ਕਿਹਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
IITian ਬਾਬਾ ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਇੱਕ ਪੋਡਕਾਸਟ 'ਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ, ਭਰੋਸੇ ਨਾਲ ਭਵਿੱਖਬਾਣੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਭਾਰਤ ਪਾਕਿਸਤਾਨ ਦੇ ਖਿਲਾਫ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਿੱਤੇਗਾ।
ਇੱਕ ਵਾਇਰਲ ਵੀਡੀਓ ਵਿੱਚ, ਉਸਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਇਸ ਬਾਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਜੀਤੇਗੀ। ਵਿਰਾਟ ਕੋਹਲੀ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਜਿੱਤ ਦਿਖਾਉਣੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ ਹੈ। ਮੈਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਭਾਰਤ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਿੱਤੋਗੇ, ਤੁਸੀਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਿੱਤੋਗੇ।
ਹਾਲਾਂਕਿ, ਭਾਰਤ ਦੀ ਜ਼ਬਰਦਸਤ ਜਿੱਤ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ, ਨੇਟੀਜ਼ਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਸਦੀ ਅਸਫਲ ਭਵਿੱਖਬਾਣੀ ਲਈ ਉਸਦਾ ਮਜ਼ਾਕ ਉਡਾਉਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੋਈ ਸਮਾਂ ਬਰਬਾਦ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ। ਇਸ ਘਟਨਾ ਨੇ ਆਈਆਈਟੀਅਨ ਬਾਬਾ ਨੂੰ ਰਾਤੋ-ਰਾਤ ਇੱਕ ਮੇਮ ਸਨਸਨੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਦਲ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
ਸੋਸ਼ਲ ਮੀਡੀਆ ਮੀਮਜ਼ ਅਤੇ ਟਿੱਪਣੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਭਰ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ, ਕਈਆਂ ਨੇ ਉਸਨੂੰ ਧੋਖਾਧੜੀ ਦਾ ਲੇਬਲ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ। "ਫਰਜ਼ੀ ਬਾਬਾ" ਮੁਹਾਵਰਾ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਇੱਕ ਆਮ ਗੱਲ ਬਣ ਗਈ।
ਔਨਲਾਈਨ ਪ੍ਰਤੀਕਰਮ ਦੇ ਬਾਅਦ, ਅਭੈ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਵਿਰਾਟ ਕੋਹਲੀ ਅਤੇ ਟੀਮ ਇੰਡੀਆ ਦੀਆਂ ਤਸਵੀਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਮੁਆਫੀ ਮੰਗਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਐਕਸ 'ਤੇ ਜਵਾਬ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਉਸਨੇ ਲਿਖਿਆ, "ਮੈਂ ਜਨਤਕ ਤੌਰ 'ਤੇ ਮੁਆਫੀ ਮੰਗਣਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਹਰ ਇੱਕ ਨੂੰ ਜਸ਼ਨ ਮਨਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਕਹਿਣਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਇਹ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਦਾ ਸਮਾਂ ਹੈ... ਮੁਝੇ ਮਨ ਹੀ ਮਨ ਪਤਾ ਥਾ ਕੀ ਇੰਡੀਆ ਜਿੱਤੇਗਾ।"
